Artist Advising

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of artists, designers, theater-makers, technologists and more. I’ve collected a lot of useful knowledge about what it takes to bring an ambitious, innovative project to life. And I’ve also learned a lot about some of the most common challenges creative workers face, like:

  • Breaking massive projects into smaller, achievable goals
  • Crafting experiments to test assumptions
  • Creating pitches and funding projects
  • Finding clear ways to talk about your practice and market yourself
  • Balancing your practice between studio time and applying for funding/bringing in revenue
  • Understanding the creative landscape and identifying where you fit in
  • Evaluating projects and distilling learnings to evolve your practice
  • Making time for accountability and committing to deadlines

I offer both one-off advising sessions and packages for creatives looking for support.

How can I schedule?

You can book a session here, and you can email me to find more information about packages. Not sure if this is for you? I offer free 30 minute discovery calls.

What happens in the sessions?

You may use this session to:

  • Talk through a creative project for general sense-checking or figuring out how to break it into smaller, achievable goals
  • Discuss outreach or partnerships for your creative project or company
  • Talk about tools or processes for creative projects
  • Ask “pick your brain”-type questions

You don’t need to prepare anything for our sessions. Some clients like to use our time together as a “deadline” for project milestones and to review them together on the call. Some clients send me a list of questions they want to tackle. It’s also okay to show up with no idea what to talk about, we can see where the conversation takes us.

Is this therapy?

No! I’m not a trained therapist or coach. This isn’t a substitute for psychiatric care. Often creative work is closely tied in to big feelings or parts of identity work that I can’t help with. I’m here to help with practical stuff and to ask questions to help you reflect.

How much does this cost?

Sessions are £100, and I offer a few pay-what-you-can slots each month.

I work for a company and I’m interested in engaging your services as a freelancer.

Great! Drop me a note at hello@sarahbrin.com.

I still have more questions!

Sounds good! You can always contact me over email or book a discovery call. Looking forward to learning more about you and your practice.
