In Spring of 2020, the League of American Orchestras found itself in a predicament faced by most live event organizations: how could they present their conference proceedings amidst the COVID-19 pandemic?
I worked as the organization’s digital producer for the conference, which spanned from May 5th through June 12th, 2020, and hosted a range of incredible speakers, including Esa-Pekka Salonen, Nina Simon, Paraorchestra and many others.
My work included running technical checks and best practices with speakers and staff, recommending best practices for live online events, technical troubleshooting, and managing the online conference platform. I loved working with the League, especially because my job meant I needed to attend almost every conference session; I learned so much and connected with so many great minds working in cultural spaces!
