Dreams (Sony PlayStation)

A digital creativity suite for making games, films, and music, all on the PlayStation.

From 2020 to 2022, I worked as the Business Development Manager for Dreams, a user-generated content platform created by Media Molecule, a videogame studio within the Sony PlayStation family. There are many ways to describe Dreams, here were some of my favorites:

  • “a game engine disguised as a game”
  • “similar to Roblox or Minecraft, but much prettier”
  • “a digital creativity suite, with the capacity to design games, create films, make music, design lighting, develop 3D models, and activate physical installations, all on the PlayStation.”
  • “a platform for designing and playing games.”

My role there included a few different components, including:

  • attracting and growing partnerships with various brands, IPs, and studios
  • partnering with entities outside the games sector, to demonstrate Dreams’ capacities for other creative industries, including film, music, and advertising (resulting in projects for brands like Aardman, The Toronto Maple Leafs, John Lewis and many others)
  • leading initiatives with games studios and developers to enrich the content available within Dreams
  • serving as the first point of contact for client partnerships, and maintaining project oversight and quality standards from inception to project completion/retrospectives
  • delivering keynote presentations at conferences and communications to C-suite
  • shaping departmental policies and procedures for licensing, onboarding, project kickoffs and other business operations
  • overseeing philanthropic and educational initiatives, including hardware donation, guest lectures, and university partnerships

You can see more detail about some of my projects with Dreams elsewhere in this portfolio.
